Toledo Water Sports Bylaws

 

Article 1.

 

Robert's Rules of Order shall govern the parliamentary proceedings of this club unless otherwise provided by these bylaws. The order of business shall be:

 

1.                                          Roll call

2.                                          Reading of the minutes of the previous meeting

3.                                          Reports of Officers

4.                                          Unfinished business

5.                                          New business

 

Article 2.

 

Standing committees need not be in the constitution. Other committees such as the House Committee and the Activities Committee are suggestions. The House Committee shall have supervision of the clubhouse, or facility in which meeting is held. The House Committee shall be directly responsible for the maintenance of order and the keeping of furniture, fixtures and clean up. The Activities Committee, with the Event Chairman acting as chairman, shall have general charge of all tours, competitive events, and social functions, subject to such orders as the club may give. The President may appoint other committees as necessary.

 

Article 3.

 

All bills must be reviewed and approved by the President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary.

 

Article 4.

 

The club dues shall be $25.00 per year for Individual or Family.

 

Article 5.

 

All members in good standing shall have voting rights only in the matter of expulsion of a member that is not an official of the club.  There are no other voting rights in the management of the corporation, unless the Board of Trustees calls for a vote of the membership on a specific issue only.

 

 

Article 6.

 

A member may be expelled for conduct unbecoming a member of the club, but charges must first be made in writing and the accused member given a hearing before the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees shall take evidence and report its findings to the club with the recommendation that the charges be considered proven and the accused member be expelled, or the charges be considered not proven and the accused remain a member of the club. The club shall then vote whether the recommendation of the Board of Trustees shall be adopted. It shall require a two-thirds vote of the active membership present and entitled to vote in order to veto the recommendation of the Board of Trustees.

 

Article 7.

 

All club officers must be IJSBA members.

 

Article 8.

 

Only dues-paying members shall be considered members of Toledo Water Sports.

 

Article 9.

 

During the riding season, the regular meetings will be held prior to a riding event. During the un-seasonal riding time, monthly meeting will be held at a local facility.

 

Article 10.

 

The by-laws may be amended, providing the proposed amendment is submitted in writing at a regular meeting. It shall then be advertised for 30 days and voted on at the next meeting. One-third vote of all active members in good standing shall be required to pass an amendment.

 

Article 11.

 

Ø      No alcoholic beverages are permitted during any riding event scheduled by Toledo Water Sports, Inc.

Ø      All members must complete a safe boating course within the first year of membership.

Ø      Any violation of this article will be grounds for immediate dismissal from Toledo Water Sports, Inc.

 

 

Article 12.

 

Any personal monies that the Board of Trustees have paid into Toledo Water Sports will be paid back at a time that it is feasible for Toledo Water Sports.
