Rune Word Browser is a utility that was developed to keep track of rune words for Diablo II. It was specifically designed for the Zy-El: Trial by Fire mod and was inspired by Raevan's Rune Word Assistant. The Browser incorporates an Item Tree similar to the Folder View in Windows Explorer that represents the folder structure on your harddrive. Selecting an Item in the tree will refresh the Rune Word list with all the runewords for that particular item. You can also edit and save Rune Word Descriptions by double clicking on a rune word. The Browser can also look and act like Raevan's application by displaying an Item List rather than the Item Tree.
Rune Word Descriptions are stored in small text files. Each Rune Word has its own file. This way, you can easily share your Descriptions with others.
Rune Word Browser was developed in Visual Basic and it may require a couple of other files. There is also a full install if the provided files do not help. See below for that information.
Download The Browser and extract it into a directory of your choice. I have mine installed in a sub directory of my Diablo II folder called RWB. If you add Rune Word Descriptions, they will be created in a sub folder called "RuneWord Descriptions", in my case this would be "D:\Diablo II\RWB\RuneWord Descriptions\".

Required Files
You may not need either of these files, try to run the program without them. If you encounter problems, download the files and extract them into the same directory where you are running the Browser from. I apologize for this, I hate them too, but this helps programmers like me develop programs quickly. Check out this screenshot for an example of what you might see if you are missing these files.
SCRRUN.DLL is used to help when working with the data collections that are built and used in The Browser. It also assists in the file I/O that is used for the Rune Word Descriptions. My test computer is a Windows 2000 SP3 box and it already has SCRRUN.DLL installed.
MSCOMCTL.OCX is used to create the Item Tree and various data lists. This is a common file for Visual Basic applications. You may already have this installed. The file you have installed may be an older version.
