Hello! Hello!Welcome to Olivia's website. I am Tiffany. My husband, Matt, and I are the parents of Olivia Jane. Olivia was born on February 20, 2001 . She weighed 6 lbs. 8 oz. and was 19.5 inches long. Right after birth the nurses noticed her "abnormal" cry but thought it was because she had swallowed too much mucous during birth. The next day the pediatrician examined her and noticed other "abnormalities" and told us she was having her chromosomes analyzed. As first time parents, we had no idea what these "abnormalities" meant and therefore didn't worry too much about it.

However, at our doctor visit four days later, we were informed that Olivia has Cri du Chat. We were given the same grim and horrifying diagnosis as it seems many parents receive. We were given a paragraph on the syndrome and sent on our way. We were completely devastated.

After coming to terms with the diagnosis and doing a ton of research, we found that the outlook is not so grim and we are looking forward to the life she will have with us. We felt so much better after looking at other children's webpages and reading as much about the syndrome as we could.
